The ASR44G is a cutting-edge self-hold thermal cutout designed to prevent overheating or fault conditions in a heater. HOW THE SELF HOLD ASR WORKS
The ASR44G is ingeniously designed as a thermostat/resistor combination. The resistor is electrically located below the contact arm of the thermostat. When the thermostat contacts open at the predetermined trip temperature, the resistors are placed in series with the load. The resistors then maintain a temperature that keeps the temperature-sensitive bimetal of the thermostat in the open state. To reset the self-hold ASR, simply remove power and allow sufficient time for the bimetal to cool down, at which point the thermostat will reset itself to the normally closed position..
